Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the year there are many opportunities to serve here at the Center, as well as the community at large.

Purpose & Mission

It takes a village… we believe in unity. It is our intention to not only serve our own spiritual community, but to be a light in our local community, as well as a light in the global community.

Current Opportunities

The Youth Program is a wonderful way to support the spiritual growth of our children and it would not be able to run without the help of dedicated volunteers. If you are called to service, there is a four step process to volunteer in the Youth Ministry:

  • STEP ONE: Volunteer Application/Interview

All volunteers/staff members will fill out an application (link below) and be interviewed by the Youth Ministry Director. The interview will go over the current needs of the ministry and what skills you can provide.

A volunteer/staff member must regularly attend the center for six months before being eligible to serve in positions providing access to children, youth, or vulnerable populations.

  • STEP TWO: Background Check

All staff and/or volunteers that work with children or youth must undergo a criminal background check every two years.

Any crimes involving children and/or any sexual offenses (regardless of the age) are an automatic disqualification.

  • STEP THREE: Policies & Procedures

Staff members and volunteers are required to review the policies contained in this manual and sign the last page indicating that he or she has read and understood the material, and agrees to comply with policy requirements.

  • STEP FOUR: Child Abuse/Neglect & Sexual Abuse Trainings

All children and youth staff/volunteers are designated mandatory reporters of any abuse. Within 30 days of completing the background check, all staff/volunteers must complete both trainings. These trainings will be renewed every two years.

Kitchen Angels support the center by preparing coffee, tea, and snacks in the Social Hall for after service. The Angels arrive at 10 am to get set up before service. At the end of service they set the snacks and cups out in the social hall.

We’ll be adding more opportunities to serve over the next couple weeks. In the mean time, please contact the office if you have any questions or would like to become a volunteer here at the Center.
